How to write an effective article

Many schools tend to ask us about what they should include when submitting an article to be published on Schools & Agents. Therefore, today, we took the advice of Marketing gurus BaiLogik, and we decided to put some tips together in order to help you write better articles.

So here's our suggestions:

1. Use Simple Words and Effective Topics

Remember that this is not an English writing exam, or a competition to see who knows the Dictionary or the Thesaurus best. This is a communication tool, and one of the most important things in communication is to send a message, and for that message to be received and understood. Therefore, simplicity is key. Another key element is the effectiveness of the topics chosen. And this ties in with the next point.

2. Keep the audience in mind

When you submit articles to Schools & Agents, remember that your target audience is Agents, not students. Therefore, when writing you need to write about topics which interest agents, and you need to write article FOR agents. In other words, phrases like "We will give you the best experience of your life" should be avoided, because those phrases are used for students not agents.

3. Use good images

Images not only need to be high quality, but they also need to reflect the topic of your article. Another important tip is to avoid stock photos. We've all got used to them by now and the only message that stock photos send is that you do not have any good images to share with your audience.

4. Don't share too much news

Remember one of our favourite phrases - Less is More. When it comes to articles, stick to one topic per article. Saying too much will just have the reverse effect and scare people off.

5. Use links naturally

Another question that people often ask us is whether they can include backlinks in their articles. Well of course they can. However, and this comes with an important "however", these backlinks must be included in a natural way. Anything that seems forces will only have the reverse effect and rank you lower rather than higher on Google.
